Sarawak, Anita (1952– ) Singer. Anita Sarawak is the daughter of Malay actress Siput Sarawak and actor- director Roomai Noor. Born Ithnaini Mohammad Taib. She started singing professionally at the age of 16, and soon became known for her stage presence and ability to fuse different musical genres. She recorded albums in both English and Malay, including Love Me and Dunia Oh Dunia (Oh World). She has also performed at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

Sarawak owns a boutique, Poise, and has written a cookbook, Cooking with Love. She has hosted variety and talk shows on television in both Singapore and Malaysia.
