Lim, William (1932– ) Architect. William Lim Siew Wai is a graduate of the Architectural Association (London) and Harvard University. In 1960, Lim set up Malayan Architects Co- Partnership with Lim Chong Keat and Chen Voon Fee, and they won a competition for the National Trades Union Congress Conference Hall (1961). The practice was dissolved in 1967. Subsequently, Lim set up Design Partnership with Tay Kheng Soon and Koh Seow Chuan. The partnership leapt to prominence with its proposal for the Peoples Park Complex. Lim resigned from Design Partnership in 1981 and formed William Lim Associates. His other work includes Tampines North Community Centre, Reuters House, Marine Parade Community Centre and the Gallery Hotel. In 2002, Lim retired from practice to concentrate on writing about the culture of Asian cities in the context of post- modernity. He is an adjunct professor at RMIT University in Melbourne, and a guest professor at Tianjin University, China.
